We are delighted to congratulate Mr. Shubham Suryawanshi (Ph.D. Scholar) and Prof. Aniket Vasantrao Kataware (Assistant Professor) on their recent publication in Nondestructive Testing and Evaluation! Their study, titled "Investigating moisture susceptibility of lignin modified asphalt binders with natural aggregates using surface free energy analysis," explores the potential of lignin, a sustainable biopolymer, to enhance the moisture damage resistance of asphalt binders. The research demonstrates that lignin modification, particularly at a 10% dosage, significantly improves the adhesion between binders and aggregates, with basalt showing the highest improvement in energy ratio (ER). This study provides valuable insights into the use of lignin as a sustainable modifier for asphalt binders, offering a promising solution for improving pavement durability and reducing environmental impact. Well done to the authors on this significant contribution to the field of civil engineering!
