Prof. VenkappayyA R. dEsAi, Director, graced the 62nd Institution Day celebrations of National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Chennai as the Chief Guest on 14 December 2025.
Held at the Thiruvalluvar Auditorium, the programme included sapling plantation, inauguration of the Happitude Wellness Centre, ceremonial lamp lighting, and addresses highlighting NITTTR Chennai’s global outreach, digital pedagogy, AR–VR initiatives, and inclusive academic practices. Prof. Desai delivered an inspiring address. He reflected on India’s rich cultural and architectural heritage, citing examples such as the Brahadeeshwara temple of Thanjavur, Grand Anicut (Kallannai Dam) and Ellora caves of Maharashtra, a monolithic rock-cut marvel sculpted over generations. Drawing parallels between heritage and education, he underscored the importance of vision, perseverance, and long-term institutional building in higher education. He also appreciated the pivotal role played by NITTTR Chennai in strengthening technical education across the country.
