The interaction between algebra and geometry is historically well-known. This interplay between algebra and geometry has become even intense since the introduction of modern algebraic geometry by Zariski and Grothendieck. This symposium focuses on recent developments that highlight some of these connections involving normal curves, Hilbert functions, Hilbert-Kunz multiplicities, and tangent cones.
