The Kendriya Vidyalaya was inaugurated at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Dharwad campus on 23rd March 2026 marking a significant milestone in strengthening school education facilities.
The school was inaugurated by Prof. Venkappayya R. Desai, Director, IIT Dharwad in the presence of Shri Ramesh Kumar Goyal, Principal, Kendriya Vidyalaya Dharwad along with faculty members, staff, students of IIT Dharwad and teachers from Kendriya Vidyalaya Hubballi and Dharwad.
The inauguration ceremony began with the traditional lamp lighting at the school premises. Kendriya Vidyalaya IIT DHARWAD has commenced operations from the academic year 2026-27 with Classes I to V. The school aims to provide quality education to the wards of faculty, staff, research scholars, and the local community or in and around IIT DHARWAD, in line with the guidelines of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan under the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
The initiative reflects IIT DHARWAD’s continued commitment towards creating a holistic ecosystem that supports not only higher education and research but also foundational schooling for the community.
Admissions for the academic session 2026-27 are currently open. Applications for Class I are being accepted through the online portal of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, while applications for Classes II to V can be submitted directly at the IIT Dharwad campus during office hours. The last date for submission of applications is April 02, 2026.
