The 3rd Alumni Meet of IIT Dharwad was successfully held on 14 March 2026 at the IIT Alumni Centre, Bengaluru, bringing together alumni, faculty members, students, and industry leaders for a day of meaningful engagement and collaboration. The event was also graced by the presence of Prof. S. S. Murthy (Member, Board of Governors, IIT Dharwad).
The meet commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by a welcome address by Prof. Hiranya Deka, (Faculty-in-Charge, Alumni). This was followed by addresses from Prof. Dhiraj V. Patil (Dean - Outreach, Alumni & Corporate Relations), and Prof. V. R. Desai (Director, IIT Dharwad).
Prof. Rajshekar K, Prof. Abhijit Kshirsagar, Prof. Hiranya Deka, and Prof. R. Prabhu respectively from the Departments of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), Electrical, Electronics and Communication Engineering (EECE), Mechanical, Materials and Aerospace Engineering (MMAE), and Physics, presented updates on academic and research developments.
The event featured special addresses by the Chief Guests, Dr. Prashant Kumar Srivastava, CTO and Co-founder of Oorja Energy, and Dr. Shikha Singh, CTO and Co-founder of i3 Digital Health.
A highlight of the programme was the Student-Alumni Interaction in Hybrid mode where alumni answered queries from present students based on their professional journeys and experiences. This provided a valuable opportunity for students to engage with alumni and seek guidance in their areas of interest.
The event also included networking over lunch, and a General Body Meeting.
On special invitation by the IITACB, more than 15 industry leaders, including CEOs and CTOs, participated in the event. They interacted with IIT Dharwad faculty members, alumni, and students, and discussed potential avenues for collaboration. These interactions were steered by Mr. Ramesh Rao Nidambur, IITACB Committee Member.
