Title: "Are WE Alone in the Universe?"
Date and Time: 24th October 2024, 2-3pm
Venue: UG-003, Central Learning Theatre (CLT), IIT Dharwad

Abstract: Dissipative System far from Equilibrium (Life) is naturally expected in the Evolving Universe, which is far from dynamical, thermal and chemical equilibrium. However, "WE" might not have a counterpart elsewhere, who can be in "contact" with us in a language that both can understand, nor is it desirable.

The elementary Astrophysics, Cosmology and Relativity that I shall introduce are on firm footing.  I am not a biologist, but shall tell some story from experts and argue why the basic building blocks might have originated elsewhere and flourished here. The question has some relevance to the Institute in view of a CALTECH-TIFR-IIT Dharwad collaboration. At the end I shall say some free-for-all things, which nobody should take as offensive; rather you should freely participate and can ask me to shut up.
