Kendriya Vidyalaya IIT DHARWAD marked the beginning of its new academic session with a vibrant 💐WELCOME DAY💐 on 20th April 2026 (Akshaya Tritiya) at the Kendriya Vidyalaya IIT DHARWAD campus.
The event was organized to warmly welcome students and parents, setting a positive and inspiring tone for the academic year ahead.
The program was inaugurated by Prof. Venkappayya R. Desai, Director, IIT DHARWAD; Rakesh Kumar Goyal, Principal (Additional Charge), Kendriya Vidyalaya IIT DHARWAD; Prof. Dileep A D, Dean (Administration), IIT DHARWAD; Prof. Dhiraj V Patil, Dean (Outreach, Alumni & Corporate Relations), IIT DHARWAD; and Dr. Kalyan Kumar Bhattacharjee, Registrar, IIT DHARWAD, along with KV teachers Ms. Mathura Dixit and Ms. Ayushi Sahu.
On this auspicious day, which also marks the birth anniversaries of Bhagwan Parashuram and Jagadguru Basaveshwara, the Director, PROF. Venkappayya R. Desai, spoke about their life, teachings, and values, highlighting the importance of righteousness, knowledge, and social harmony, and encouraged students to draw inspiration from their ideals. He also spoke about the concept of Net Zero in Water, Energy, and Waste under Parashurama Basaveshwara Akshaya Kshetra (PBaK), emphasizing sustainability and responsible living.
Welcome kits were distributed to students, marking a warm and encouraging start to their academic journey.
The dignitaries addressed the gathering with inspiring words, motivating students to strive for excellence and make the most of their learning opportunities.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from students, parents, and staff, making it a memorable and meaningful beginning to the new session.
